The renewal letter trick

Privacy: the underrated criterion
Whoever is named agent has their address in the state’s public database — searchable by anyone, scraped by marketers. A service puts its address there instead of your home; Northwest goes further and lets you use their address as the business address across the filing where states allow it. If you work from home, this is the quietly strongest reason to pay for an agent at all.
